We are committed.... no turning back!!

Nauvoo, Illinois
March 8th 2012-

We were in Nauvoo with the Southern Virginia University students on their Travel Study Program trip as advisers when the Nauvoo Mission President gave us a copy of the letter from the Mission Department.  We are going to the Omaha Nebraska Mission assigned to the Winter Quarters Historical Sites.

 ************************

Our motivation letter from our children for Christmas... It was in response to our letter we sent to each of them to do and complete their living will.  All they did was change the underlined parts from wills to mission papers and sent it back to us! They each completed their wills and we turned in our papers!

In case you are wondering what this letter is about…

For the past several years we have been trying to find an effective way to encourage you to put together your couple missionary application papers.  Our efforts come and go with no concrete plan that has been effective.  So, this is our newest and most hopeful plan to date:

All we want for Christmas is…
a picture of you holding a copy of your couple missionary application papers.  You can do a simple online application yourself, or have a bishop do the work; whatever your computer skills allow.  Anything is better than nothing, and hopefully this will get you thinking about what’s best for you and your posterity.  If faith is an issue we’ll be happy to put Christmas wishes towards the effort of this project. J  Just let us know.

We love and appreciate you so much and want the best for the both of you…you are so worth it!

Love, your family

  1. Our family just got back from visiting Winter Quarters and the Kanesville Tabernacle. Elder Ellsworth took us through the tour of the tabernacle. Sister Ellsworth had our kids see 2 commercials from the church about Sharing---they loved it. It was short and sweet and I asked Elder Ellsworth if he was related to any Ellsworths in Roy, UT....he said No. I was searching out "old" friends (The Harrisons) and I came across Roger's wife's profile (Julie Harrison) and saw this blog and just decided to click on it, only to find that we just met you this summer. It's such a small world. I grew up with the Harrison family, my family was the Muir's. Enjoy your mission!!--Julia
